Insulation Before & After in Houston, TX
Numbers on a quote tell you what a job costs. But they don’t show you what it feels like to walk upstairs in August and notice the hallway doesn’t bake anymore. That’s why we keep a running record of the attics we’ve worked in across Houston. The before photos always look the same: thin, settled, dirty fiberglass or none at all. The after photos show a clean, measured install. That difference is the whole job.
Recent Transformations
Attic Insulation Upgrade in Cypress
Before
AfterThe problem was an attic with original 1990s fiberglass batts that had compressed to about R-19, leaving the upstairs bedrooms seven degrees warmer than the rest of the house. We removed the old batts, air-sealed the top plates, and blew in Owens Corning fiberglass to R-38. The result: the upstairs thermostat holds steady now, and the HVAC doesn’t run past 8 p.m. in July.
Spray Foam Insulation for a Bonus Room in Katy
Before
AfterA bonus room over the garage in Katy was unusable from April through October. The roof deck had no insulation at all, just shingles over plywood. We sprayed Demilec open-cell foam across the entire roofline, turning the space into a conditioned room. That room now stays within four degrees of the main house, and the family uses it as a playroom year-round.
Pet-Safe Fiberglass Reinstall in The Heights
Before
AfterAn older home in The Heights had batts that looked like they’d been there since the Carter administration, and the homeowner’s dog has allergies that flare up around dust. We removed everything, vacuumed the attic floor, and installed GreenFiber cellulose, which is treated with boric acid for pest resistance and is a good match for pet-sensitive households. The homeowner said she noticed the difference in her dog within a week.
Attic Reinsulation After Storm Damage in Pasadena

A roof leak during a spring storm soaked a section of attic insulation in Pasadena, and mold started to show on the ceiling drywall. We pulled the wet material, treated the affected framing, and once the roofer finished, we reinstalled Knauf batts with proper vent baffles. The ceiling stain hasn’t returned, and the attic is dry at the soffit line.
Garage Conversion Thermal Barrier in Pearland

A Pearland homeowner wanted to turn half the garage into a home gym, but the west-facing wall absorbed heat all afternoon. We framed and insulated the exterior wall with Johns Manville batts and sealed the ceiling joists, then installed a thermal barrier where spray foam meets the living space. The room now holds at 72 degrees with a small window unit, which is all the cooling it needs.
Whole-Attic Air Seal and Top-Up in Sugar Land

The Sugar Land house had decent insulation, but the attic was leaking air around every recessed light and ceiling fan box. We sealed each penetration with foam and topped the existing layer up to R-49 with CertainTeed blown-in fiberglass. That attic now passes a smoke test with no visible air movement, which is about as conclusive as a thermal barrier gets without exotic testing gear.
Want Results Like These?
Every one of these jobs started with a phone call and a written price before any work began. We’ll walk your attic, show you what we see, and give you that number in writing. Then we’ll do the work with shoe covers on, drop cloths down, and a photo of the cleanup before we leave. Call (430) 226-1334 and we’ll come look. The estimate is free, and the price won’t change.
