Meet the Houston Team Behind Thistledown Insulation Houston
The crew that shows up at your door in Houston is the same crew that answers your questions on the phone and walks your attic before quoting a dollar figure. We’re a small, local team of installers and coordinators who’ve spent years working in Houston attics specifically, which means we know what 140-degree attic heat does to fiberglass batts and why a southeast-facing wall in Meyerland behaves differently than one in The Heights. No subcontractors, no rotating cast of day laborers. The names below are the people you’ll actually see.
Our People
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been installing insulation in Houston homes for eleven years, the last six with us. He’s our lead on spray foam jobs and the person we send when a homeowner wants to understand exactly what’s happening in their attic before committing. Marcus works primarily with Icynene and Demilec open-cell and closed-cell systems and can explain the difference in plain language without making you feel talked down to. He holds manufacturer certifications for both product lines and handles our most technically demanding retrofits. Marcus is the guy who shows up early, walks the attic twice before bringing equipment in, and still finds time to ask about your dog’s name. He’s originally from Galveston and still drives down to fish when the redfish are running.
Dana R., Senior Installer
Dana has spent nine years in residential construction, four of them focused on attic and crawl space insulation. She specializes in blown-in fiberglass and cellulose work, and she’s certified to install Owens Corning and GreenFiber systems. Dana is meticulous about coverage depth and will spend an extra twenty minutes making sure the eaves are properly vented rather than rushing to the next job. Her background in home framing gives her an eye for spotting issues homeowners should know about, like a baffle that’s slipped or a vent that’s been painted shut. Dana’s the one humming quietly while she works, and she’s known for leaving attics cleaner than she found them. She’s a Houston native who can tell you which neighborhoods flooded during Harvey and how that affects insulation choices today.
Renee T., Service Coordinator
Renee is the voice you’ll hear when you call (430) 226-1334 at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. She has spent seven years dispatching home service crews in Houston and knows the city’s traffic patterns well enough to give you an honest arrival window rather than a hopeful one. Renee schedules every job, tracks every written quote, and makes sure the crew has the right product loaded for your specific attic before the truck leaves. She’s also the one who follows up after a job to confirm you’re satisfied under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. Renee is a former teacher and it shows: she explains things clearly, never rushes you off the phone, and remembers that you mentioned your baby naps at 1 p.m. so the quiet tools request gets passed to the crew.
Oscar L., Apprentice Installer
Oscar joined us two years ago after working residential remodeling in the Spring Branch area. He’s training under Marcus and Dana on both fiberglass and spray foam applications, and he handles a lot of the prep work: laying drop cloths, sealing off work areas, and prepping attic access points before installation begins. Oscar is the reason your hallway stays clean from the front door to the attic hatch. He’s working toward his manufacturer certifications and already runs the blower equipment on blown-in jobs solo. Oscar is a Houston food guy, the one who can tell you which taco truck in your neighborhood is actually worth stopping at when the crew breaks for lunch.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this team works under the same non-negotiable standard: the Cedarwell Care Promise. That means shoe covers go on before we walk through your door, drop cloths go down across your hallway and under the attic hatch, and we ask before we move anything in your home. We use quiet tools when children are sleeping, we choose pet-safe insulation products where a choice exists, and we photograph the clean-up before we leave so you can see exactly what we did. The written price you receive before any work starts is the price you pay, period. And if something isn’t done right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we return and make it right, no debate, no fine print. That’s how Neil Barron runs this Houston crew, and it’s how every member of the team works every single day.
